It was a Gala concert.





26th of August 2012 was a special day for a group of special people that included highly talented young music performers and some amazing artists <3!!! so before i actually begin this post i thought i look up the history of this even ( as in how this came to be :-) ....and by reading it i learn t a lot about how it all started my self!!!...so the special person behind it all was Emin Tagiev whom i met in person !!! i even got a chance to shake hands with this great soul <3 ! and i should provide you a direct link here (before i forget ) that will take you straight to the main website if you are more interested ( which i am sure you will after going through this !!!). dont forget to scroll up and find that link here <3







Founder: Emin Tagiev

After graduating as Dux of the music school for gifted and talented children in Baku, USSR, Emin Tagiev completed a Masters Degree in Teaching and Violin Performance at the Azerbaijan State Conservatorium of Music.  Whilst is Russia, he co-authored three books on violin teaching methods with his father, Professor Murad Tagiev, who held the position of Head of Strings at the Azerbaijan State Conservatorium of Music.

Emin Tagiev was very fortunate to have studied under the great names in violin at the time, including Professor Leonid Kogan and Professor Kravchenko at the Moscow Conservatorium of Music.  Upon completion of his studies, Emin Tagiev became a member of the Azerbaijan Chamber Orchestra and then the world-renowned Israeli Chamber Orchestra and the Israeli Violin Ensemble. 

Emin Tagiev has always been involved in teaching, especially children, and when he was invited to Australia in 1995 to improve the curriculum and teaching methods used by the Stoliarsky School of Music in Brisbane, he was delighted to accept the position.  Since that time he has achieved a formidable reputation as a brilliant violin teacher, coaching many students to achieve beyond their expectations, with a significant number of past students continuing their tertiary studies in prestigious music establishments around the world.  

Emin’s teaching style is distinguished and highly regarded. Professional musicians throughout Europe, North America and Asia have applauded the success of his youthful orchestra which has amazed audiences on their international tours.  Emin continues to work in the proven Russian methods of teaching. Emin understands the value of different teaching methods and styles. He works collaboratively with other music teachers and encourages his students to attend Master classes to assist his students to strive for reaching their full potential.

To your left is this special person together with Tania Frazer and Honorable, Lord Mayor of Brisbane ... Graham Quirk who was present at the occasion and he declared open this inaugural event.

 Zoe to your left and Lily to the left ...they were all brilliant musicians ! and not forgetting to mention the were all under 20 or 21 as far as remembered!!! it was pretty awesome to listen them play .


Oliver to your left won the first place in the event but i am sure they had a very hard time trying to figure out the winners!!! and of course to your right Grace Wu..she took our breath away by her talent and performance !

 I was compelled to provide a special note on him in honor of his wonderful performance <3 and yes he was one of the members in the panel <3 ...he was invited to play for us .

Ilya Konovalov was born to a musical family in Novosibirsk (USSR) in 1977. At the age of 7 he commenced his studies with Prof. Zakhar Bron and later with Prof. Alexey Gvozdev in Novosibirsk. During this time he was a prize winner in the All-Russian and Wieniawski International Violin Competition. He later studied with Prof. Dora Schwarzberg at the Vienna Academy of Music.
Ilya has perfomed all over Russia and Europe and in Brazil, Indonesia,Korea and Japan. He has appeared with prestigious orchestras such as the "Moscow Virtuosi", the Netherlands Radio Chamber Orchestra,the Israel Sinfonieta Beer-Sheva, the Moscow Chamber Orchestra "Musica Viva" , the Saint Petersburg State Capella Symphony Orchestra, the Moscow State Symphony, the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, the Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra, the American-Russian Symphony Orchestra and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of conductors such as Vladimir Spivakov, Hugh Wolf, Zubin Mehta and Yoel Levi. He played chamber music with many prominent artists, among them: Yuri Smirnov, Yuri Bashmet, Yuri Gandelsman, Kyoko Takezawa, Guy Braunstein, Dora Schwarzberg, Steven Isserlis, Matt Haimovitz etc.
For the past 10 years he has been participating many prestigious festivals such as: "Young Artists in Concert", Festival in Davos Switzerland, "Schubertiaden" Music Festival in Germany, Haifa Music Festival and " Dreiklang" Festival in Gemany. Ilya Konovalov has recorded two CD's for Melodiya label in Russia and the Brahms Violin Concerto with the Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra under Arnold Katz. Since 1997 he has been Concertmaster of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under Zubin Mehta.
Ilya Konovalov is the 1st violinist of the Israel Philharmonic String Quartet  wich was found in 2006 by the the request of Maestro Mehta and supported by the Richter family.
Since 2006 Ilya Konovalov teaching violin and chamber music at the Buchmann – Mehta School of Music at the Tel Aviv University.
